What We Learned
After this semester-long project, our team has acquired extensive information about organizational communication and business. We furthered our knowledge on terms and ideas that we learned about in class and by reading the textbook. We expanded on our researching skills.

In a study conducted at Notre Dame, theorists found that motivation is the key driver to a successful task force. The study brings up prosocial motivation which is "the desire to exert efforts to benefit others" (Jia and Linden).

There is a positive correlation between team-building and overall satisfaction. The highest beneficial results come from handling conflict in a positive and constructive manner (Manjula).

Newcomers tend to be polite when they come into a company, however they tend to adjust this after observing how long-time coworkers act (Friess).

Following the chain of command is not always necessary or beneficial in a company. This study discusses how up and coming companies no longer follow the chain of command. Google is one of those companies (Hall).

Employees tend to respond more positively within a company that identifies as "in-group" as opposed to "out-group." This article discusses when emails are appropriate communication versus face to face. This would be helpful for a newcomer to Google (Turnage and Goodboy).
